The conceptual orientation of the research incorporates a dual cultural and political perspective (Wallace and Hall 1994; Wallace and Huckman 1999) for analysing interaction.
This perspective is based on literature about staff professional cultures (Nias et al 1989; Bolman and Deal 1991) and micropolitics (Hoyle 1986; Blase and Anderson 1995, https://typemyessays.com/term-papers-writing-services). Giddens’ (1984) analysis of interaction, entailing a definition of power as either synergistic or conflictual, was used to conceptualise how actors have differential access to resources in endeavouring to realise their interests according to their beliefs and values, which are shared to a varying extent with other parties to interaction.
